Ugh, I didn’t realize I forgot to put this page up… no wonder I got a little confused earlier. Catching up and Fixing, then will post all of next week’s updates, which will be two pages.
Riane drifted down to stand in front of Lexx. She reached out with her left hand to touch Lexx’s face. “That fact is precisely why you should. If the strong don’t stand up for the weak, another generation will be lost to the same torment you and I went through.”
Riane waved her right hand, distorting the relay into a window of sorts. “Through my eyes.” The window lit up like someone had turned the lights on in a dark room. Shelves packed full of well organized boxes lined the walls, reaching from floor to ceiling. Crates of various sizes sat on the floors, some opened and empty, others with sheets of paper on them describing the contents. It looked like a store of some sort.
A figure sat at a work table on one side of the shop, hunched over a device that was strewn out across the table along with tools and canisters of oils.
There was a pattering scrambling sound of small feet and sharp nails striking a smooth floor. The window shifted down to focus on a trio of small animals playing around the base of one of the shelves. They were a foot high at the shoulder, red furred with lighter spotting on their backs. The creatures were cubs of a subspecies of the same base that Serenity and Sirius were. They had rounded ears, tails that forked on the end, and a similar, but shorter body length. Lexx realized he really was seeing things from Riane’s eyes, at her height, and her actual memories.
I was so happy I got this done before the update! Then I realized that the Wednesday update got STUCK. 🙁 🙁 ARGH.. last convention until fall is this weekend, then I won’t have these distractions.
Lexx walked out onto the wet sand, enjoying the sensation of the cool wet grains on his feet. He recalled how the first time he stepped foot in the sand, it had filled his shoes and irritated him. He would not have walked barefoot into it, but now, it felt good.
The waves rolled in gently, washing up the beach and breaking over Lexx’s feet. His pants were getting wet, but Lexx didn’t care. He stared out over the ocean, spreading his short wings to catch the breeze.
If I win, I am free. The words reverberated through Lexx’s thoughts, carrying with them the heavy weight of the unknown.
Free? Another voice broke through his thoughts, sharp and full of rage. You might have an illusion of freedom, but you will still be part of the game. Lexx found himself pulled abruptly into his thoughts. The dark sky above him was replaced by the crimson and golds of sunset. Golden clouds laced the sky and Riane hovered in the air above him, casting a judgemental glare in his direction.
“You again? What do you want from me?” Lexx rolled his eyes.
“You can’t leave thousands to die in this game when you can speak for them.” Riane all but yelled at him.
Lexx ‘s jaw dropped in disbelief. What was she saying? Did she know what she was talking about?
“The head of the ADC is a rishan.” Lexx stated in a low angry voice as an array of light in the shape of wings erupted from his back and flared with each word. “Why should I give up my one chance at happiness for them when they’re so quick to destroy each other.” IT was more of a statement than a question. Why should he put himself out there when nobody had stood up for him?
