Alien Dice 30-01-14 & 15

Go me… I forgot so bad. :/ – Tiff

Tairin pushed herself up with a low moan. Her body rapidly healed itself, but it still stung, and the burns were deep. She sat for a minute as one of her two dice, Linone, limped around her, its injuries almost entirely healed, vanishing into folds of ever-moving smoke.

“Let’s go,” said Tairin, rubbing the side of her head, a whispering coming from the other dice. “Lintwo knows where they are.”

“The firebird will see us coming,” grumbled the smokey dice, huffing out a cloud of ashes as Tairin stumbled to her feet.

“Target the bird and the other dice. I’ll take care of Lexx.” Tairin wobbled, gaining her bearings. She swayed, sliding in the sand. It took a moment longer to regain her balance, and she limped up the beach, determined but still healing. “We win or die trying. No other outcome is acceptable.”

“Yes, Tairin,” said Linone, trotting beside her, head low.

“We need to move.” Lexx frowned, receiving a message from Pyre. He stroked a hand down Serenity’s neck. She hadn’t moved since she laid down, her injuries healing agonizingly slow. Unfortunately, they couldn’t remain in the field any longer. “Pyre says one of Tairin’s dice has located us.”

“I’m fine,” said Serenity with a growl. She shifted, rising with her weight on her uninjured left forefoot. Lexx rose, stretching his wings, eyes locked on her. Serenity drooped bodily from her head to her tail. Judging by the dried blood soaked into her fur over her chest and sides, she had received far more injuries than she let on.

“Tairin wants a quick death or victory.” Lexx strode forward, heading down a low embankment. He lifted his wings, preparing to fly. “I’m not giving her either. An enemy I know how to defeat is worth wasting as much time on as possible.”
