So I got my laptop back on Monday. I got started on work and didn’t have time to touch it until the evening… when it threw up the SAME error it’s been throwing up with keys sticking when I didn’t touch them.
I reset my laptop back to factory settings.
I went into Lenovo’s special update program and set it to flash the BIOS as it recommended – a security update I believe.
My laptop proceeded to BRICK ITSELF in a self repair loop I couldn’t figure out how to get out of.
I contacted Lenovo’s help about it and they couldn’t get me out of the problem so I requested an escalation and was told it would take 3 days to get back to me – so Friday, by then, someone would call me or contact me via email.
Wednesday, I couldn’t stand it and started fiddling with my machine and after a short google solution, found the way to fix it. I was very angry that I was able to do this and help could not. I ended up resetting it AGAIN. Spent Wednesday and Thursday setting things up as well as most of Friday, which meant very slow going on actual work. :/ I had to get work done, but at the same time, I am hating this machine and know there’s a chance it’s going to be replaced, but then again, I may have to keep it.
You see, NOW, it’s not giving me the errors it was. It’s still an awful user experience compared to my prior tablet pcs and I suspect it’s THIS machine, not all of them, just THIS one. I can’t flash the bios or it will have to be reset again and that bothers me.
Friday came and I got an email stating that they would get back to me on the next business day… Monday. Seriously? I really need this resolved, because I’m wasting a ton of time. :/ So I JUST managed to get Vincent and Filaire up and that’s all I’ve done. 🙁 Tomorrow, no matter what, I’m going to pencil and take myself away from computers, because they’re really depressing me and it took me awhile to figure out just how much.
